The conditions for products that may be exempted from inspection are stated in Articles 4-13 of the Regulations Governing Exemption from Inspection of Commodities. The general principle is that these products will not enter the marketplace for sale. Purposes of importing or distributing products exempting from inspection include private use, commercial samples, exhibition, research and development or testing. There are also thresholds of value or quantity for each purpose depending on the purposes.
