Mandatory RecallDEHUMIDIFIERS RECALL NOTICE:9 brands, 27 types dehumidifiers with the risk of self-inflammation.Certain types (see attachment 1 for type numbers) of dehumidifiers manufactured by TATUNG, SANYO, SAMPO, WESTINGHOUSE, GIPSON, FRIGIDAIRE, KOLIN, TECO and WHIRLPOOL between 2003 and 2006 are identified with manufacturing defects and might be self-inflammable. These manufacturers are hereby recalling these defective dehumidifiers.
The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) urges consumers owning dehumidifiers manufactured by these brands to promptly check the type numbers of their dehumidifiers and refrain from using the product subject to recall to avoid any self-inflammation accident.
